Campaign Overview

In January 2005, the Customer Education Advisory Board (CEAB) launched the Customer Choice Campaign in the District of Columbia. The two-year campaign, called DC is Electric, is a collaborative effort among CEAB members, which include the Consumer Utility Board, the District of Columbia Public Service Commission, the DC Energy Office, the D.C. Office of the People’s Counsel, Pepco and the National Association of Retired and Active Federal Employees.

The campaign’s objectives are to provide clear, concise, and unbiased information to District of Columbia’s consumers regarding the changes taking place in the electricity market. The goal is to help consumers make informed choices about who generates their electricity.

The campaign complements, coordinates with and assists the educational efforts already underway through CEAB member organizations.
